Excellent question, and thanks I'm from New Orleans. The Neocons hate anything to do with this Bush failure and lie.

I do wonder why something that happened over a year ago has been getting so much attention from the media this week. Not that we should abandon the victims, but many people are relocating and getting on with life. Should we keep bringing back the memory of their pain repeatedly? One story of recognition on the one year commemeration would've been okay, but a whole week of all Katrina is a little overboard. Well, at least its a break from John Karr and The Emmy's.

HEH? Whoa, the grand conspiracists rear their ugly heads. It is the left-anchored MSM that focus on non-stories like Ramsey and Holloway, or contort the greatest hurricane in U.S. history into something the government some how engineered. Last I heard, Blanco and Nagin couldn't fire up enough buses or get people on them, to save those who needed saving. The entire state of Louisiana is run by Democrats, yet somehow, the 'Cons' were responsible for the effects of natural disaster on an already poorly governed (by Democrats) part of the country?

It's not a sane place to put a city in the first place, and it's not a city where people HAVEN'T ever experienced major storms or floods. Everyone knew what they SHOULD have done, but chose to do what they WANTED to, given all the available information.

If you are in a situation where you have 24-48 hours of advance warning, you would know to get the heck out of there and figure it all out later. Many didn't exercise that type of sense, but relied on officials and infrastructure they KNEW were faulty or fallible. We can't continue to check out of managing self-responsibility and demanding someone ELSE do a better job of managing our lives.

Mr. Karr (sp?) will be arrested and tried for his transgressions against minors in other states. This was a ploy to milk the dim-witted MSM into giving himself and his family the sick and disgusting book and movie deals that the MSM is fond of handing over to the most perverse in our population. The MSM made up the hoopla, played its tune incessantly to generate a feeding frenzy and then blamed the 'conservatives' for shifting the media's and nation's focus by arresting the 'wrong guy'. What a bunch of mularkey. Rather than handwringing over the Ramsey murder or the Holloway disappearance much light should be shed on the millions of tax payer dollars that were fraudulently doled out to Katrina victims and used for non-essential purposes, or perhaps the MSM could cover something more comprehensively important to the U.S., like our abysmal TSA and DHS and the continued tomfoolery at the FBI/DIA/CIA that expose us to more frequent and violent terrorism in the future. It's a nice world when all you have to do is worry about crazy pedophiles or the self-destructive nature of some current and former New Orleaners from afar. How 'bout the liberal media putting on some punching gloves when interviewing Ahmadinejad or talking to the millions of Iraqis and Afghans who went without adequate education and medical care for years because of their oppressive previous leadership, but now enjoy the same privileges that most of America who's comfortable in the position of remote control jockey have long taken for granted.

The MSM can do us all favor and not make up the news, but go find it and report it, objectively.

Why would cons want that story off of the front page?

It clearly shows the ineptitude of the social welfare system and the moron mayor that it's recipients elected TWICE!

Yeah we will get right on that as soon as everyone stops blaming Bush for it. If you were really that funny you wouldn't have you laugh at your own "jokes".

LOL. Specially when it was the inept Democrat Mayor and Governor that helped cause most of the preventable damage, injuries, and deaths. The truth hurts, doesn't it dick wad?
