example:
0.25 = 25/100 = 1/4

put the decimal over it's place value, i.e. ten, hundred, thousand

so 0.4 = 4/10 or 0.135 = 135/1000 and then reduce
good luck!

first move the decimal over until it is a whole #. then divide the # by a multiple of 10 w/ the same # of 0's that you moved the decimal over in the numerator:

for example:

0.5

move the decimal over 1 time: 5.0
now divide by 10

5/10 = 1/2

0.5 = 1/2

another example:

0.625

move the decimal over 3 times so it is 625.0
divide by 1000 (there are three 0's)

625/1000 = 25/40 = 5/8

good luck~

To change,
1. Determine the place value of right - most digit
2. Place the decimal digits over the denominator of that place value.
For Example -
0.235 = 235/1000
and

2.0576 = 2 x10000
576/10000 = 20576/10000

Take the full number
Pretend that the decimal point isn't there.
That's your number on top.

For every number to the right of the decimal point, that's how many zeroes go next to the number 1 that you put on the bottom.

So 3.14 becomes 314/100 (before thinning down...)

Convert .50 to fraction.

.50/1 x 1 and then replace the one with 100/100 (this reduces to one and is the place value of .50)
.50........100.......50
----- x ------- = ------
1. .. . . 100. . . 100

then you reduce this by using the number that is divisible by both
50 . . .. . .. . 1
----- \50 =------
100 . .. . .. . 2

to turn this back into a decimal you simply take 1 and divide it by 2 which gives you .50

take the numbers after the decimal like for instance .45=45/100 or .863=863/1000 or .5515=5515/10000
so for every number after the decimal then always start with a 1 and for every # after the decimal add 1 zero
