There are some absolutely gorgeous lampwork beads on Ebay
But you will pay a bunch for them.
Some of the Ebay stores are offering 5 beads for 100.00 plus. The sellers are very talented and the beads are amazing.
If you are interested in just glass beads and crystals you can get them at Michael's, Hobby Lobby if you have one (I visit them when I am back east) local bead stores, Walmart.
I buy many of my beads from http://www.sedonastones.com
http://www.bluemud.com Very reasonable prices.

Look in your local phone book for craft shops or specialty bead stores. Also, there is usually a Michaels around somewhere. If there selection isn't nice enough, ask the sales associates there where to get better beads, they usually know. Also check out any local craft type street markets.

At craft fairs, and at art shows where glass blowers are showcasing their beads. If you cannot wait for the local art fair to breeze through your town, try a Hobby Lobby.

Mail order is great or on-line is great it is cheaper
http://www.firemountaingems.com
http://www.beadinpath.com/index.php
http://www.mamasminerals.com/aboutusalbstore.html
You might want to order Catalogs from these 2 they are not very good on line
http://www.thunderbirdsupply.com
http://www.riogrande.com/
These are not as high quality, but they are cheap and it is always nice to have a wide variety of beads.

Ebay is good look for sellers that have high ratings. Yard sales are good and sometimes they have some at thrift stores.

Silver, gold, copper, brass, chrome metallic. Copper or brass will have a tendency to make skin eco-friendly if it rubs on them. Gold and silver are obviously intense priced, silver being a lot more beneficial problem-free. you may purchase small parts of stainless, copper and brass cord on-line or in quite some hardware shops in the Anchor cord decision that contains black iron (oil end) and galvanized. Silver cord must be bought from rings companies.

I saw some at Wal-Mart's nearby supercenter. Try the craft aisles. Also, check for craft stores in your area.
