your question has touched me, I have parents but they were useless, so I basically divorced them, you have grandparents who I hope be good for you as they have raised children before and will be more chilled now second time round.
You have to believe in yourself and remember how special you are, that you have to find what your good at in this life and go with it, be honest, open and most of all true to yourself at all times.
Be Honourable to those who love you and deserve your time, and get rid of those in your life who are takers, liars and users.
Don't do anything in your life where you feel uncomfortable and uneasy, but take risks and stretch yourself and the spirit to live.
Stay away from drugs and alcohol in ways that will cause you harm or addiction, love your dog he will always be loyal no matter what, be thankful you are not living on the street, have a bed and food to eat and clothes to wear.
Parents don't always give you what you need, all negative above happened to me while l lived with them and life has been tough, i ended up with no self esteem, and hated myself because of them, but here I am, no parents in my life and it made me who I am today. Strong, positive and a survivor.. and two great confident kids who are top of their classes at school..so good can come out of bad, they taught me more than they know.
I don't know your circumstance little one but you sound pretty OK to me...keep strong and be happy and be YOU....

I was lucky enough to have both parents, growing up and still have my mom. Her mother died when my mom was seven and was alone with her. Her dad then sort of left and she was shuttled between relatives until her dad remarried the wicked witch of the west, and she lasted in that situation a mere six years until she moved out. She got a part time job, paid room and board, finished high school and worked her way through college. She was not abused, just severely neglected. They would drop her off at the movies at age ten, then not go get her, she would have to walk miles home after midnight, they were asleep with the door locked, she would sleep outside until the next morning. She was an only child.
She is my hero and my inspiration every day. She really used a bad situation and decided she would be better than that, and set about doing it. She does not have a pity party about it, but does tear up on those rare occasions when she speaks of her childhood.

One of the positive things I learned about not having natural parents who raised me was how to be a good parent myself - how to always be there for my two children, do things with them, support them in their interests, etc. The experience doesn't have to be bad if you look at ways to enhance yourself -- best wishes to you!

I lost my father young, not as young as you. You have obviously had to grow up in some ways, but by the sounds of it you have handled it with great maturity.
