Because we don't know that you can use wikipedia. Next time include that in your question. Wikipedia can answer the majority of all questions asked on here, so it's instinct for people to paste it into their answers!

I agree, although I sometimes cut and paste some bits from other sites to support my answer and to save the question setter going there. However, I also acknowledge the source.
I have seen some answers though that just fully cut and paste the whole answer without any enhancement or clarification or even acknowledgment. They might as well just put the source URL in, but perhaps they think it makes them look clever?

Its a pain in the ****, its Ok to put the link, so the reader can chose whether to go there and read the whole section, but for others to C & P the info, is just too much and I for one, get hacked off having to scroll through loads of drivel I don;t necessarily want to read, just to see a few answers.

properly, I do would desire to trust Slothums. yet what's fairly annoying, as became into reported above, while they replica and paste (Duh, as though we did no longer understand) and did no longer even supply the region credit. And in case you ever asked them to place it of their own words, they does not have a clue what the stuff they copied and pasted meant, yet yet sense qualified to offer human beings searching for solutions, solutions which they understand no longer something approximately. and each so often does extra injury than good, rather while people who're easily searching for solutions, and have no know-how of the project (that's why they ask interior the 1st place, suited?) have confidence of their lack of expertise.

Sorry to answer a question with a question but, why not?
Aren't those answers most often the most correct?
I do wish some of them were not so long.
and only included the pertinent points.

I agree. That's why I generally don't award "best answer" to anyone who does the Wikie Quickie copy & paste thing.

Because people ask things they could look up on there, but don't. It's to save them the bother...

Coz while YOU may know how to use Wikiedia, not everybody does - and it does tend to supply a lot of relevant information.

Judging by the intellectual content of your questions, I can understand your request.
