I found that 'bazuka' gel works really well (it can be bought over the counter in pharmacies in the UK (and probably elsewhere too)) - it's specifically designed for veruccas and warts (but you cannot use it on warts on your genitals), and it's not messy at all. When the gel dries over the wart it turns white, which does look a bit obvious on your hand - but you could probably cover that with a plaster or something if it was embarrassing. It can take quite a few weeks to get rid of the wart, but that's probably better than using a home remedy which might not get rid of the wart entirely.

Also, I think that in the UK you can go to your doctor and get them professionally frozen off, but it's probably worth giving the gel a go first as it's pretty cheap and easy to use.

I had the same problem.
Put duct tape on them (seriously) just covering the wart area, leave on overnight or for 2-3 days until the tape falls off, scrub away the dead skin and repeat until the warts are gone.
It really works.

There are several effective ways: lasers, liquid nitrogen, acid, and yes, duct tape. It depends on where they are, how quickly you want to get rid of them, and whether or not you want to see a doctor (dermatologist).

See Sources for further info.

You can buy some liquid from the chemist which gets rid of them...... it is quite expensive though. Can't remember what it's called but the assistant will know.
