My son hired an attorney to get his divorce. This was not a custudy battle and there was not any property to fight over. The attorney kept this thing going on for over 2 years and my son paid him around $6,000. And then demanded $2,000 more within 1 week or he would drop him. Of course he dropped my son because he did not have the money. So he had to represent himself with his x wife and her attorney. They set up a meeting and everything was resolved. It seems the only issue was support. She wanted it lowerd. Now my son is suing his attorney in small claims. But he is very nervous. I think he has a good case. Does any one have any advise or help in any way? Thanks

All right, I'm not sure exactly what they're called, my parents ended up doing this. File a complaint with your state's bar association for unethical behavior. Not sure if all states do it, but the one's my parents had to file with KS & FL, they have a fund that lawyers have to pay into, to cover the costs of clients getting screwed by unethical lawyers. Maybe someone can explain this better, but it's a start. Also, it takes a long time.
