You are very right justice must be delivered to everyone in this conflict or it will never end. True justice will probably entail everybody getting something and no one getting everything they want. that way everyone has something to complain about, but at least everyone's got something near and dear to them. Oh and by the way take Jerusalem out of the equation....no one group should hold that city, instead make it a world heritage site and let either the U.N. or a neutral country guard it and let the groups Jews, Muslims and Christians administer it in the form of an assembly government.

Funny thing about justice. It goes both ways. There needs to be justice for Israel as well as the Palestinians. Israel needs the assurance it will be allowed to exist in peace and not be threatened with annihilation by the Arab states such as Syria, that surround her and want her destruction. Until then there will be no peace!!

The young Elvis Presley, once asked by a reporter when he was finally going to go steady and get maried, famously replied: "Why buy the cow, if you can have the milk for free?"
Israel insists that the Palestinians unilaterally:
1) recognize the right of the state of Israel to exist (without its pre-1967 borders, though, because Israel claims or has even annexed some of the occupied territories) - AND WITHOUT THE ISRAELIS AT THE SAME TIME HAVING TO RECOGNIZE THE EXISTENCE OF "PALESTINIANS", OR THE RIGHT OF A PALESTINIAN STATE TO EXIST;
2) permanently and completely to renounce terrorism or violence - WITHOUT ISRAEL EVER HAVING TO STOP KILLING PALESTINIANS WITH TARGETTED STRIKES.
In short, Israel wants to be like the young Elvis, and get EVERYTHING IT WANTS for free, as a "pre-requisite for talks". But if Israel receives all it really wants from the Palestinians for free, what's left to talk about? What would be Israel's incentive to leave all occupied territories (INCLUDING EAST JERUSALEM)?
