Im am black, and quite frankly I do not use that word. That word comes with alot of baggage. unfortunately, you will find the ignorant blacks using that word, it makes them feel cool or 'thugged out'. If you ever cross paths with black people you will see that the educated ones are more eloquent in the way the speak. The ignornat ones with no home training, besides training from the streets are the ones with the dirty mouths. I dont want to dog at my race, but its the truth inevitably.

Because when they use it toward each other it is not used in a negative way, and we as black people know what a friend means when the say it whether it's right or wrong to use. It's just not excepted for whites to do so because usually when they are there being derogatory, and why would a white person even want to?

i really don't know why they do, i guess it make them feel better? I think they look like idiots when black folk or even white folks do it. I would tell them to grow up and let go of that race crap! Jewish people do the same thing about race but the only difference is that black folks were made into slaves 200 years ago, and the Jews were executed by the millions just 60 years ago. Now who do you feel more sorry for.

1) i think it is rebellious
2) bc there is a double standard
3) bc their parents aren't teaching their children to respect themselves and their culture enough not to use the word
4) also i think they do it sometimes bc it makes white people uncomfortable
5) bc they are taking a horrible word and reincorporating it in a *witty* way that only they are allowed to use or "culturally understand" - it diffuses it somehow
they dont' all do it, btw and hopefully it is a practice that will fade with time. all of these are guesses on my part, bc frankly, i don't know why anyone would want to use the word at all.

Black call themself the N word b/c they felt that no one is better than them and only they can put themself down. Although the N word has change its meaning slicly through Hip Hop over the years, but its still carry alot of weight.

Because when we call each other ******... we don't mean it in a bad way or an offensive way. We don't even pronounce it as ******. We say *****. We are not saying it in the sense of the word. When white people call us that, they mean to put us down by saying it and we don't appreciate that. So that is the difference. May not ever make sense to you but we know what we're doing

in my firm belief, black people who call each other the Nword are really just imitating what modern day rap artists think is the new buzz word to get people to buy thier songs.
they believe that calling each other this makes them cool.
it makes them very stupid. Honestly,
i am black and if I come across a black person who used this kind of language, I dont really associate with them anymore.
Its just trashy.

It's bad enough when Blacks use the term, but when Whites use it; the word takes on a whole, new meaning that is beyond offensive! Same thing goes for Whites who repeat jokes that they heard Blacks say, especially Black comedians!

Its double standard. Blacks are the new oppressors. The rest of us bend over backwards to not offend them, yet they stroll around like we still owe them something. (Not all of them, but a great many). I mean, BET, white jokes, holidays deemed simply for being african american? WTF?? They are the real racist bigots. They have colleges and scholarships that only blacks can apply for. We fought our own families and friends so that blacks would not have to endure segregation, yet they SEGREGATE THEMSELVES!!! WTF??? There needs to be a reality check. What did that New Orleans leader demand? A "Chocolate New Orleans"? Come the **** on people. That kind of racism should have ended his career!!

In the rap world they say N.i.g.g.a. Actually it doesn't mean the same thing when a white person says it. However, by Blacks using it often, it is sorta defusing the derogatoriness of it. Some day it won't mean squat.
