Well... you can't really speed up nature :)

Your mom got hers at 15 so you'll probably get yours soon too. It would be hard to say if 115lbs is "enough" because we don't know your height. I will tell you that junk food isn't the answer, no matter what.

My daughter was thin too... and didn't get her period until just before her 16th birthday. If you don't get it by then, ask your mom to schedule you an appointment with your physician so you can just make sure that everything checks out okay.

With the current number of young girls who are overweight, 15 does seem late... but it's only because girls are now so overweight that they are producing excess estrogen much younger so they're having their period younger and younger. I've seen girls as young as 8 or 9 (usually young heavy African-American girls) starting their period. Thin white girls just have to be patient :)

Signs to watch for might be that you get taller... that you begin to develop breast tissue... that you might have a bit of hair under your arms or in your pubic (private) region. Your skin on your face might get oily or your pores might get larger. You might get a few blemishes on your skin. Also, the hair on your legs might get darker and coarser and you will want to shave your legs (although a lot of girls start doing this by age 12 too, whether they needed to or not!) :)

You might notice that you have a light-colored discharge sometimes on your panties. This is something that occurs when your body begins to produce hormones too... so a menstrual period won't be far behind!

Be patient... and let your body take its time. It's actually very healthy to be thin and start late. Believe it or not, because of the estrogen production issue, you are actually better protected in adulthood from osteoporosis and some forms of cancer! So... relax. It will come... and it will be a right of passage for you... but it will also become annoying once the newness wears off :)

I totally get wanting to be like everyone else though... it sucks to be the last one in your group to start... it's like they all belong to some secret club or something and you didn't get an invitation yet!

Next it'll be menopause and no one wants that invitation - lol

Best to you, sweetie... and just stay tuned... it's right around the corner :)

Don't rush it. Not only do most women find it somewhat annoying, but getting your body to grow or change before it's ready is a bad idea.

It is true that low weight can contribute to a delayed onset of sexual maturity, but it does come eventually for everyone (physically anyways :). Your body will get there when it's good and ready.

As far as trying to gain weight to induce the onset of your period: really bad idea. Cut down on the Cheetos and start exercising. Being in good health should convince your body that it's time to get things going.

It doesn't sound so uncommon or weird. I think the usual timeline for starting is somewhere between age 9-16 (or maybe even 17). ..And you said that you eat a lot of junk food.. I can't say that would postpone it, but it definitely won't help you. Unless you are malnourished, your weight should have nothing to do with it.

Try not to worry.... every girl gets her period at a different time. You will probably get your very soon. If I were you I would give it a lil longer... especially since your mom and sister got theirs around your age. If you dont have it in a few months, talk to your Mom about seeing a gynecologist. But again, try your best not to worry, stress can delay a period.

It's completely normal. Live it up while you don't have it, for real! And rapid weight loss or gain can affect your period, but really unless you're extremely over or underweight, it probably won't. Believe me, you're fine and most likely nothing's wrong with you. Every person's body is different. Good luck :)

Ok first thing: Don't try to gain weight so you can start your period! You'll just end up being unhappy with your body and if your naturally skinny then that's your body type.
Second: It migt run in your family to start your period late. You should talk to your doctor and she could see if theres anything wrong and stuff!

Actually the later you period arrives the better it is for you. Back in the days the women's period used to arrive from 16-18 years of age, but due to all the chemicals they put in food (mostly frozen) it altered women's chemical balances and therefore rushed the body to process "womenhood" faster.

Its natural. Stop worrying. AS soon as you get it, its there for the next 40 or so years of your life. Relax. If you and you mom think there is a medical problem, go to the doctor and talk about it.

Once you'll look at this day and smile saying "I really shouldn't ask for this. It was coming anyway".

I say don't worry about it. I'm a male and feeling like adult was late but it came after all and i really miss the old childish days!

I think that its normal. Everyone gets it at a different age, so don't worry... not having it is better! You're NOT missing out on anything! So, have fun, and expect it soon. You SHOULD get it at around the age your mom did, so maybe it will come soon! Good Luck!
