It was most likely a +/- (positive/negative)test, the little suare window is the control so the line should be vertical, and on the result window, if you have a horizontal line, which is a -, then it means it's negative, if it was positive it would look like a + sign. Which means, that since you only had a - sign, then you're not pregnant.

e.p.t test. ok if u see a plus sign in the circle window u r but if u just get a line goin across the screen u r not. but u trying to say that u saw a faint line that made it look like a plus sing then yes that is a pos. u should go to the doctor to make sure. and maybe u should read the directions again and look at the picture its pretty much tellin u what to look for. good luck

Get the instructions either online (they are there - get the brand name of the test & look up) or by asking your friend. If you didn't do the instructions right (and since you didn't have them you probably did it wrong) it's likely your test results are invalid anyway. How old are you and what are you doing having unprotected sex at your age with AIDS/HIV, the risk of pregnancy and everything?

Here's what the web says about negative tests taken one week after your first day of expected/missed period (i..e. the day your period SHOULD have started):

It's possible to get a false negative result when you're actually pregnant (positive). If your period does not start within a week, test yourself again. If pregnancy symptoms persist despite a second negative test, see your doctor.

being pregnant exams artwork by using detecting hcg on your urine, and hcg is maximum concentrated on your first morning urine. might desire to the time of day result the outcomes? particular, somewhat while you're trying out early and the hcg stages are not extreme. in spite of the shown fact that, that suggested, in case you acquire a detrimental result -- no rely what time of day you examined -- your suitable guess is to attend yet another few days until now retesting. Early on in a healthy being pregnant, hcg stages regularly double each and every 40 8 to seventy two hours, so a pair of days can recommend the variety between a detrimental and a great result. Is it attainable which you will try back the following day morning and get a great result making use of your maximum concentrated first morning urine? definite, it somewhat is attainable. yet what's possibly is which you will see yet another detrimental result, after which you would be questioning in spite of in case you've got waited longer...and you will finally end up testing back besides! it particularly is remarkably elementary to fall into the capture of testing many many many situations -- in case you could abdomen the wait, sit down it out for some days until now attempting back. suitable of luck!

That's really difficult to answer as tests can be different.

With the tests that we use in work there are two boxes

1) Line shows up to say if the test is working correctly - no line means that there may be insufficient urine sample.
2) Line shows up if you are pregnant.

Our tests show up in blue lines so yours may be different.

I would strongly urge you to do another test (maybe at your doctors if possible). Make sure you are able to get instructions first as tests are not as easy to read as people make out.

Good luck, I hope you get the result that you want :-)

Read the back of the box in which the test came in...it is pretty clear what to look for. Since I don't have the box in front of me, I can't remember. But one thing I do remember is, even a faint line can mean you're pregnant! Good luck, hope this is what you wanted!

I just took one of those last week. in the first window if its (-) you are not preg. if it shows (+) you are. The 2nd window is just a line that will show up to let you know the test is working correctly.

The same thing happen to me with my first son, you should wait about one more week and try again, or you can just go to the doctor and get a blood test done

sorry but that is a stupid wuestion to ask. If you took the test and you bought it from the pharmacy, there are instructions on the box or casing.

If there isn't, damit, go ask your pharmacist how to read taht specific brand's results.
