It's not taught. ..At least to me it wasn't. You learn a few things here and there.. maybe a few names of the oceans and big seas, the continents, but that's about it. If you don't take the time to learn it on your own (which I haven't), you just don't know it.

Because, in America, most of the population do not learn Geography in school.
It was cut off a few years ago.
I'm from Israel, and you learn Geography until high school.

A) Because our general public education system sucks.
B) Because as Americans we don't think we need to know anything about the rest of the world.

because for the most part, I don't remember ever being taught any geography past about 3rd or 4th grade... Luckily, I have always loved it so I studied on my own..

What sucks are stereotypical generalizations that alienate and incite hatred amongst the people of this world. Its ignorant, counterproductive, and just plain boring.

Because they do not care about such basic topic. They are too focus on their superior technology and the believe that they themselves are the center of the Earth and the United Nation.

One because they're not properly taught geography in school and two because they dont care to remember anything outside the US..

Actually the people I know, all of them passed that test (on the website) got 90-100s on it.
