All of the 'oldies' stations seem to restrict themselves to middle of the road / easy listening stuff, and the rock stations seem to think that only heavy metal is rock.

Come back 'Little Nikki Horne' all is forgiven!!!

" YOU WANT TO FLY HIGH ... FREEBIRD "

Awesome song, There are a few stations that play it ( I know Virgin will on certain shows") however it is too long, instead we get lumbered with the bloody Eagles and Hotel flippin California, because it is about 2 minutes less than freebird.

Some of the internet & DAB radio station's still play it as well .

If not, download to your MP3 and enjoy to your hearts content !

It is such a special song I am pleased in a way it doesn't get much airplay. It makes it that much more enjoyable when I do hear it on the radio. I have the song in a few different formats myself but it is hearing it spontaneously that is best. It is and always will be a "classic". Lynyrd Skynyrd were so talented

There's not a demand for it. If 5 people ask to play that song a week, the radio station wont play because they could be playing something 5443223(exaggerated) people want to hear, and called in.

Dude whoever just gave that last answer is a total idiot and needs to be killed. Not really but hes still wack. Freedbird is an awsome song and should be played all the time. Speaking of freedbird I'm going to the lynard skynard (however you spell it) concert at buffalo run cassino in miami, oklahoma. Too bad for that plain crash though. :(

probably because it's so long, even though it's a classic and a good song not everyone wants to listen to the same song for ten minutes.plus most radio stations play only newly recorded stuff, unless it's a specific decade station.

I think it was a victim of its own popularity. I still adore that song, but many of my friends say they heard it too often! Radio stations are aware of this. So just get an mp3 version and play it on your computer all day long if you want to :)

you mean freebird by lynard skynard? if so, it is on the soundtrack of the devils rejects. and yes, it is a great song. forget the first response because he obviously has no taste in music. its probbaly just too old. maybe if you listen to the classic rock station, youll hear it.

THE best song ever written!!! I am going to get it played at my funeral, the full length version, not the one used for the radio. Play it nearly every day and have never got sick of it. You have got great taste
