i got a motorola i-930 and it comes with a dock that hooks up to my laptop, i use a program called mp3 editor to cut parts out of songs i want and i drop them into the smartphone folder under my computer and it goes right to my phone, so it is possible but im not sure with your particular phone.

I would get the Motorola phone tools software. You can download it from www.motorola.com. You will still need a cable to connect your phone to your pc to get the ringtone. It allows you to use a CD and make your own ring tone.

I know a site. It's free. (Unless you have to pay for texts) You upload and mp3 off of your computer and use any part of that song and send it to your phone. The more people you have sign up through your link, the more credits you get for ringtones. It also gives you 4 free credits for just signing up.

yes you can cut a portion of your song with music editing software and save as a mpeg file and use that
