Whenever I use my Windows media player to play video my XP operating system crashes. Why? This does not happen when I play music with it (Windows Media Player) just video.
HELP!!!!!!

bad video codecs. have you installed any video codec packs. if you have you would best to remove these.

let me give you the break down...

PC- Piece of CRAP
Mac- Man Made Miracle

Hope that helps you! And another thing... Check to see what is bothering your Computer... (virus... memory issues... etc.) Make sure that all of your cookies have been taken care of, as well as anything else that may be CLOGGING your computer... (this is just the basic work to keep your computer running) Try to work on it at least 1 a week or 1 every 2 weeks!

Buggy video codecs, since there are .avi .mpg .mov isolate the file type that screws up first. Reinstall the libraries handling that file type.

You're using Windows is why. Switch to Mac and you won't crash.

your video codecs are screwed.
reinstall them
