I have a long distance boyfriend. We saw each other for 3y while he was stationed at Ft Polk, LA on different occasions as buddies. He re-enlisted for Korea 18M tour, left 1 Feb, did not hear from him until 19 Jul!, he visited in Sep, got orders for Ft Carson, CO, called in Oct, visit in Nov, was 12M Irak, saw him in Jan, did not heard from him until Mother's Day (we do not have children together!), phonecalls, e-mails, I visit him 11-13 Aug in CO and now he realizes what he got with me, wedding next Aug, we know each other 7y!

Do both of you have access to a computer? If so, then download either Yahoo Messenger or MSN Messenger. My husband and I talked EVERY NIGHT on MSN Messenger because it didn't cost either of us a dime and we lived over 700 miles apart. We did this for a few years before we got together and got married.

If you both download the messenger and you still only talk occasionally, I would say the relationship is over and it's time to move on. However, give it a shot before you do anything rash.

How can you have a long distance boyfriend? How about a long distance short term acquaintance? Friends don't dump friends!

Some of the people on here are so friggin ignorant i.e ANGELA She is just asking a freakin question. Long distant relationships are extremely difficult. If he is slacking on calling and your not too upset then it looks like you are on the down slide. You may want to consider calling it quits, if the spark isn't there.

You should dump him if you do not like him or you think that it is not working do not just drag him along find someone else that is close to you unless you want to stay with your boyfriend and love him.
