Can wood stain be added to Minwax wipe-on poly clearcoat for tinting?

If you want the mixed stain and poly, you should buy it mixed that way from the manufacturer. Otherwise, the solvent in the stain may screw up the finish of the poly.

mix a little and put it on the underside of whatever you are staining. if it looks ok go for it. m

if you ad it to the polyurethaine it will give you a cloudy lokking finnish
