I personally was a huge crab when I was pregnant, and irritability can be an indicator of hormonal changes, but crankiness should never be used as a diagnosis. A missed period is the best way to know for sure - get a pregnancy test if you have not started at least a week after your due date.

Crankiness (if caused by hormonal changes) is also a sign, in some women, that they're about to get their period... If in doubt, why not just take a test?

I was very crabby for about the first 2 months for both of my pregnancies. Sometimes I felt so crabby that I could hardly stand to be around myself. I was very happy when the crabby stage was over with. I already knew I was pregnant though so I cant say it was a sign.

??? I really think it depends on the individual. My husband can tell I'm pregnant by my moods. He actually said both times, "Honey, I think you're pregnant." When I asked why, he said... "You've been so nice, and in such a good mood lately!" lol... Both times, he was right!!!
