Slayer or Metallica.?????? Which of the 2 bands do you think is a better METAL band....and why????

Slayer is a better metal band overall and Metallica is a bad version of a hard rock band that used to be a kinda good heavy metal band that got all soft and bluesy and ballady (there's my reasoning).

I really loved old Metallica (Ride the Lightening is one of the best albums) but Slayer is a better metal band and has not sold out.
Also you cannot get a better metal album from beginning to end than 'Reign in Blood'

Slayer, I don't really know a lot about them, but I don't think Metallica is metal at all.

Slayer! I mean who get's an album case recalled for putting a stencil of Slayer to carve in yourself. And Metallica just got old and cut their hair, the new piercings don't help either!!!

Metallica's WAY overrated - don't like em.
Slayer has a better guitarist and they just sound way more metal to me than Metallica. Metallica isn't even metal anymore.

Where would Slayer be if Metallica didn't pave the way? Metallica didn't start metal, they just brought it out from the underground scene. Metallica is better. I personally think they put on a better live show. But hey, that's just my oppinon and everybody has their own. Why argue who's better, lets just JAM!!

Slayer is better ....more talent, more experience, more technical, awesome demonic lyrics, fantastic drummers...both Paul B. and Dave L., very appreciative of fans, stayed with their roots of who they are....grew as a band together and became tighter and phenomenal, progressed naturally throughout the years just changing a little every album, but not losing their edge...didn't sell out.

Slayer, of course! But to be honest, American metal sucks (and yes, I am American).
Go for German or Swedish metal- the music and vocals are much better.
