Avoid the 4 Cs: Chocolate, Cheese, Caffeine and Citrus fruits. I used to suffer migraines but they happen less frequently now i've cut out this lot! Also i eat small regular meals (if possible) as migraines can be brought on by dropping blood sugar levels. I was recommended to eat lots of oily fish which has helped too over time. Try grating fresh ginger root and pouring on boiling water to drink as a tea for the sickness, never fails to stop me being sick when i feel nauseous! Hope this helps...

I was given a list of foods that cause migraines and it was over a page long! cheese, chocolate, onions, peanuts - too much stuff to list. If he comes home fromwork all the time, have him try taking excedrine migraine, that works better than any medication my doctor prescribed me. I can tell when i'm getting a migraine and i immediately take something at the start of it. I have only vomited when I get vertigo with my migraines. All you can do is be there for him, keep the lights low and the noise level to a minimum. Eyes are VERY sensitive to light and it sounds like the volume is turned up on everything! try placing a cold rag on his head, but really there is nothing you can do that takes away the discomfort. Sometimes you are so uncomfortable you just want to be left alone, not touched or anything. Try to understand that...migraines are NO fun...i'm not justifying him being a brat to you, but just want you try to understand a little.

chocolate, caffeine and red wine are significant contributors. I highly reccomend Hyland's Migraine Relief - it is homeopathic and it works - your body can do without all of the chemicals in medications.
I would suggest he see a doctor if they are making him that sick. He should also have a CT scan to eliminate the possibilty of an underlying cause. When he does have a migraine, the best thing you can do is ask if he needs anything (most likely he will say no!) and just leave him be. Migraines are debilitating -no noises, lights, smells etc....you just want to be left alone.
Hope this info helps and you partners seeks relief.

Migraine's a symptom rather than an illness. The most common cause is stress. Sounds like he has a problem with his job.
Any food that's difficult to digest can make it worse. Sometimes taking a Magnesium supplement helps.
Drugs like Migril are also very effective. (He should see his doctor or speak to the pharmacist) The trouble with these is that if you suppress the symptoms without dealing with the stress, he'll just get different symptoms.

I've suffered from migraines for 30 years, since I was a boy of 12. I've found chocolate and cheese, the usual triggers don't really make a difference. But missing meals is a killer, so I'd recommend drinking plenty of water and eating little but often - it's helped minimise the headaches. But in the final analysis, if you get them, you get them.

First, get this checked out by your GP as he is vomiting to exclude anything else. Foods to avoid, chocolate, cheese, check that he is drinking enough water as this can cause Migraines if he is dehydrated. Last and not least if all above fails have a allergy test carried out.

There are lot of trigger foods ie cheese coffee cola and also smell can be a trigger . It really depends on the person. The best thing thing to do is keep a food diary. Also if you boy friend does't take enough fluids this can contribute.. I suffered for years but noe have found what triggers mine and stay away from them, but is does take a while to pin point what are the trigger point. Wish him luck.

I used to get a lot of migranes the main thing that will start one off for me is if i let myself get too hungry. I always have breakfast and try to eat before i get really hungry also if i eat a lot of oranges i will get one, but everyone is different. I used to buy tablets specially for migranes which did work but i found to be really expensive untill i realised that nurofen would do the same job and didnt cost as much.
