I am at work right now and it is the same thing every day, sit and wait for the phone to ring. It hasn't rang once today. I want your opinion if a job is really boring do you stay or go? ( I get paid good, that is not even a concern )

Same boat, I get paid to well to go.
Basically I paid to be on Yahoo! Answers.
Plus my boss lets me bring my kids so I don't have to pay a sitter when school is out.

Count your blessings, it could be much worse, like my old job where I worked 80 hours a week some weeks and still couldn't get everything done.

If you have a chance to move up within the company by taking on more responsibilities or volunteering to do other tasks at work then follow up on those. Also, I know you probably brainstorm ways to stretch out the time it takes to do something now but you need to stay sharp by trying to set goals for yourself or trying to do somethign faster than in the past. If you really have nothing to do then try to take some courses outside of work like a college course or get some kind of certification and then study while at work.

If you honestly think that if you left and got another job where you could work harder and get more recognition or get promoted then maybe you should leave but be very careful and don't burn your bridges at your current job.

I TOTALLY understand what you mean. A lot of people (myself included) fall into this category of brain freeze at work. If you are feeling unmotivated, not challenged, and uninspired it is probably time to try for something else.

However, if you do decide to stay there, maybe you can take a class or two and fill in that time by studying on the slow days. My boring *** job is getting me through my masters.

I think you should take interest in something that you would really love to do. If you dont like your job and find it boring then find a job that you would have fun doing. If the money is not a concern for you, then I think you should go for something that is more you.

Do you want to be there? I believe that you should have a job you enjoy. There's no point going to a job you don't like. I'm about to graduate with a degree in game design and I really don't want to continue to recharge people's long distance phone cards for the rest of my life. Yes it pays well, but I don't enjoy it. Am I going to stay there? Nope. :)

So go with your gut feeling and ask yourself if it's really something you enjoy. If it's not, go for a job that won't stress you out. Good luck! :)

You sound very young, This is the time to explore, look for various other options and opportunities.

Mistakes to be made, experience to be gained.

Leave it at once! First do find another job though. Good luck

Depends if there are people looking over your shoulder. If not spend your time doing something constructive otherwise, quit. That's what I did from my last boring job.

If I weren't so bored with my job I would have never discovered this forum. I'm looking for something else between postings. Maybe you should, too.
