When we all get information chips implanted then it will be easy to control how much food people buy/consume.
People that buy to much low value food could get shocked by the chip in their hand.
It is all about maintaining a consumer society. Fat people die early and spend less money than healthy active people.
In a market society every decision is about long term commitment to products and brands. Fat people never buy designer labels or vacation at 5 Star resorts. They are a drain on the business community.
Go big Red Go.

Absolutely, what is the difference between cigarette and junk food, both make addiction and kill people right? Then why not putting some limits for eating and selling junk food, i think that's a perfect idea however how are you going to do that in this capitalist US - that i don't know. The companies would break the necks of politicians for such a decision.

Actually, we should ban sugar from all foods and use it instead to make ethanol for cars and trucks. How would you feel if you found out that all the big food corporations were putting cocaine and heroin into your food to get you addicted and to ruin your life so that you would buy their food instead of something else? There has long been speculation that Big Tobacco has spiked cigarettes with extra nicotine for decades to keep smokers hooked on them. Fat is not the enemy! Have you ever heard of a binge-eater sitting down to consume a quart of lard in front of the TV? Of course not! But a quart of ice cream is consumed just like that for the pleasure that the sugar high gives to those susceptible to it. Look into it. Don't be a size-bigot!

Okay look why should we make it illegal to sell junk food to an overweight person? That is so not right and stupid....thats the their choice if they want to make that decsion. In the same light why is it not illegal to sell alcohol to alcoholics?
That's not the governments decision, it's a matter of free will and choice.

No.
I should be free to kill myself with Big Macs
just as I should be free to...
jump a motorcycle across the Grand Canyon
volunteer for the Marines
jump in front of a bus to push my daughter out of the way
fly to the moon
shoot myself in the head to spare everyone the heartache of a trial after a horrible crime
engage in risky sex
engage in safe sex
decide which herbal remedies are worth the risk based on the perceived benefit
get liposuction
inject my lips with botulin aka botox
eat puffer fish
drive to work every day
ride a roller coaster
order fettucine alfredo at a family restuarant
order a filet mignon at Mortons
buy potatoes and make my own french fries with them
give birth to a child
give my phone number to someone I just met
elevate my blood pressure by reading the news
climb mount everest
In other words -- we do LOTS of things every day that expose us to risk of poor health and even death. If we continue this trend of legislating away risk, we might as well skip the middle man and shoot ourselves now. What little life we have left won't be worth living.
I heard a story one time about a taxi driver, former USSR citizen in NYC. Hugh Downs asked him how he like it here. The driver said we have all these newspapers here with different takes on the news. It was distressing to him that the government didn't tell us what to think about the news. Is THAT how you want to end up?
You'll have to excuse me now. I just remembered I haven't eaten lunch yet.

Nope, we can't babysit people like that, because normal adults should be able to decide what's good and bad for you. If those obese people became fat because they can't control their desire to eat, that's their problems and the government should not be involved about it. Minors must be controlled by someone older because their brains are not fully developed and they can't make good judgments about everything. Medically proven!

Minors buying cigaretts "YES" is bad because they are still igornant, but fat people like me "NO" just tell them their insurance rates and their "medicare"deductible is going to go up if you dont lose some weight and if it is a heriderity issue it must be documented with their current medidcal provider and given consideration ...

it's not right to discriminate but i feel more education is needed on healthy food alternatives. It's sad that fast food chains and handheld games have literally shaped a bunch of kids
