what is a peice of land with water on all sides called? not on 3 sides all opf the sides!

I hope you don't feel embarassed asking this question because it's quite commonly asked. A piece land that is surrounded by water on all sides is an island. A piece of land that juts out from a larger body of land and is surrounded by water on three side is peninsula. here's a way to help yourself remember it: PENINSULA is a longer word than island therefore you know it projects out further and an island is there on its own not connected to anything.
