On forms when it asks your racial origin, I can say I'm white Irish, white British or black British. I'm not a racist or a patriot, it's just that I'm English and want to say so.

To created, Texas is a STATE, England is a COUNTRY. There's a big difference.
I live in a TOWN, in a COUNTY and my COUNTRY is England. Which is a COUNTRY in Britain.
No wonder intelligent American is an oxymoron.

I realise our government is now owned by America, but a far as the majority of the English people are aware England is still a country, as are Scotland, Wales and Ireland. We have a government based in London, Scotland now have their own parliament. Britannia needs to check it's facts.

Hmm I think your locationand birthplace is more pride and herritage, rather than genetic.

Most forms are interested in your genetic makeup (more or less).

My mom is 100% Brit (Yay Manchester!). My dads family is of direct English descent (but he was born in the USA). I would love to put down English, as an option.

I think Irish people get to use Irish as an option because geneticly, there are some subtle differences (ie stereotype Red hair, pale freckled skin and green eyes. ^_-)
That or maybe The Irish are just a little more... outspoken about getting it on paper. ^_^

Apparently they want you to be nationalistic, since Britain is a nation, but England is only part of Great Britain. According to britannica.com, England is no longer a country! Check this out before you get nasty.
