The Democratic party is only partially liberal, but all liberals have been driven out of the Republican party. The words "liberal" and "conservative" do not mean what they used to and a lot of people use them wrong. For instance, I have heard conservative talk show hosts call President Bush a liberal just because he does things that they do not like.

I say that the meaning of the words has changed because many liberals voted for "ending welfare as we know it" and voted for shipping jobs overseas with NAFTA. The conservative Republicans that control the national government are spending money much faster than the Democrats ever did when they were in power. The conservatives are also in favor of starting wars for no reason. Both of these actions are in direct contrast of what the word should mean and that is to be cautious and safe.

First, I would be labeled a centrist. Of course, democrats would probably label me a conservative while republicans would label me a liberal (though that would be rare). As for what is the difference. That's tougher than it might seem. I believe both parties want to do the best for the people. After all, who wants to leave office with a legacy where people thought you didn't. The difference, as I see it, is that liberals are more for handouts thinking that this will help people out. In the short term that may be correct but in the long term it holds people back (which I believe is really what liberals want because then they can feel superior). I believe liberalism is one step away from socialism. Republicans, on the other hand, believe that job creation is the means of building a stronger nation and it allows for people to care for themselves. Yet as republicans try to create jobs they get labeled as pro-business. I haven't been able to figure that argument out. Would they rather see businesses fold and put people out of work?

You are probably gonna get a lot of rude answers. Just a heads up.

Liberal=Democrat and Conservative=Republican. They are two political parties in the U.S. They usually have different ideals and beliefs regarding government.

I am neither. I like to hear what both candidates have to say before I make a decision on who to support. :)

I believe the Republicans claim conservatism, while Democrats are referred to by others as liberals. I am neither. My vote goes to the person who best espouses what I stand for, not a political group. I hope you wanted a real answer.

A Liberal has the ability to be concerned and have compassion for people he has never met. Conservatives only have the ability to have compassion for family or friends or someone they know. Ex. most conservative are ant-gay, but when it's Dick Cheney's daughter that's a different case. they want to lock up all drug addicts except when it's Rush Limbaugh, then they feel sad for him.

liberals (democrats)are more "easy-going" like they believe that people should make their own choices in a lot of situations (pro-choice, allow gay marriage etc)
conservatives (republicans)are more strict about these subjects; they dont believe that abortion should be legal, dont support gay marriage-
im "middle of the road"- i just believe in God & dont place judgements or restrictions on others, and personally im liberal or conservative w/ myself depending on the situation

A conservative is a money grubber and a liberal is a bleeding heart who moves to Canada to get out of fighting.

In the end times you will be given a choice. You can follow the path of SATAN and his philosphy (Liberlism) or Jesus and his philosphy (conservatisim) Liberalism hate Life, Freedom and Innocence. Conservatsim loves Life, freedom and innocence.
