go to the Walt Disney World website-there is so much to see there, you can get a good feel for everything from the hotels to the rides.
You can also order a trip planning dvd. This is good even if you have all your plans made. You can see some video of the place. And if you get the Travel channel on cable, they quite often have shows featuring one of the Disney parks.

I just got back from Walt Disney World two weeks ago and before I went I wanted to find some videos of things around the Parks, too (even though I've been there before and know what it's like.)
First, to show him all the rides, go to the Walt Disney World website. Go to the Theme Parks section and show him each of the rides so he knows what he's in for and can decide what he wants to go on ahead of time (then you can also see all the heigh requirements, so if he's younger you'll know before hand what rides he can even go on.) There's pictures of all the rides, and most of them also have videos. For example, you'd go to the Magic Kingdom section of the website, then go to the Attractions section, then select a ride. Most of the rides have videos. You can also check all the attractions for the Water Parks and Downtown Disney.
Here's the link for the Walt Disney World website (the Parks section):

You can search Yahoo! for Walt Disney World videos, too. Like, before I went, I wanted to see the fireworks shows, so I typed in "Epcot's Illuinations: Reflections of Earth fireworks show videos." I got many search results, and almost all of them worked. The videos are mostly those of people who recorded them while vacationing there, so what you see is exactly what you'll see while you're there. There's also files for the Wishes fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom, Fantasmic!, different parades, Cinderellabration, Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, etc.
If you have time and have the money, I suggest going to see Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba. It's incredible! Even young kids will love it.
Here's a link for a video of the Cirque Du Soleil show:

I would recommend ordering the DVD they offer, it goes into depth more and really shows you what the parks are like, I have been there many times and we ordered it just for fun and it really shows you everything you'll want to know. If you don't want to do that i would just go to Disney.com and they have lots of stuff to look at, just play around on the website. It will show you stuff from the rides to restaurants. !!

The website has the rides and attractions which means that you can watch the videos of the rides/shows, etc. That way you can see whatit will be like before you get there.
Like another has said, order the DVD.
