Wow, although five months may seem like a long time for you, it took 5 years for hubby and I to get pregnant. I thought we would have to go through infertility treatments, because I have irregular periods, but all it took was a blood test that determined I had high prolactin levels, the hormone which stops ovulation. I went on meds for 3months to lower this hormone, literally down to 0! Then once it was at the normal range...believe it or not, we got pregnant!!! I am 18 weeks, happily pregnant and still amazed at how easy it was. In your case, if you have regular periods, it will be easy to chart the day your period started and count 13-14 days from that first day, then between 12-14 days have intercourse, those are the days you ovulate. Start doing this on calendars and also check your temperature in the mornings if it is higher than usual, just a few digits, then you are ovulating. Also ovulation kits are helpful. At this time, I woundln't worry, they classify you as infertile if you have been having unprotected sex for 12 months or more. Good luck and take it easy, that is really the way to go...sounds hard, but I did it and it worked!!!

It doesn't take just a few seconds to get there. If that were true the little swimmers would be moving at light speed. Yes the distance is short but before they can get there they must separate from each other to begin the trip. Do a little research before answering, having sex doesn't make us experts. Just relax and have fun. The best part of it is the intimacy. When you are really close you lose some of the stress that can prevent you from getting pregant. Also you might want to commit to each other before you commit to creating a life.

You've gotten some great pointers about how to conceive by everyone (except the thing about propping yourself on a pillow being a myth- it's not- do that). One more thing to keep in mind is that it takes couples an average of a year to conceive. At least that's what my friend told me today to make me feel better about starting my period this month, lol. You may be miscalculating your ovulation time. Buy an ovulation tester at the pharmacy to help you out. The women I've talked to who have used them have had great success. My husband insists we have sex more often before we resort to using the testers. He's got a point. :P

Take birth control pills for about a month or so then stop taking them. You should get pregnant pretty quick. Birth control pills make you fertile (which is why doctors stress not to miss a day of taking pills to prevent pregnancy). Most doctors prescribe birth control for a number of days to couples who are trying to conceive.

start with prenatals...they help with the folic acid ...and laying on your back with you knees propped up is a myth...and same with doggy style...because right when you have sex and the sperm is inside it only takes a couple of seconds to reach the egg/ fallopian tubes...have your husband take creatine it helps with sperm boost....that is what my gyn told me ..try not to stress and have sex every other day when you are ovulating...it helps every other day because he can build back up....some websites to help are www.fertilityfriend.com, www.babycenter.com, www.mymonthlycycles.com..good luck

Why are you trying to have a baby when you havent even made the commitment of marriage? Instead of bringing another baby into this world, why dont you work on ability to commit.
