A good way to find the answer to your question is to look in the dictionary in the section where it starts with "Pre." There are several words that come to mind, although I'd "prefer" to let you learn them on your own. I'll give you another freebie and then you're off to get some help from Websters: prevent.

A 1st grader could do this, come on! Pretest, Precalculus,preheat,prefer,prepay. You could've just looked up like a million other words in the dictionary.
