how do you call someone on the telephone using the pc?

a friend of mine one day called me up from his computer to my cell phone how is that done?

You need a few items:

Microphone
modem connected to a phone line ( most computers have it already)
phone line connected to computer

There is a program but forgot the name that enables you to call other people. Search on yahoo.

Just wanna tell you something tho, everytime u call it counts toward your minutes so call wisely ;]

There is a Cell Phone Looking device that hooks to the PC via USB, and then use Skype, or the software that comes with the PCPhone, and your set. Best of Luck

You can try SKYPE and call on the phone ( u will have to pay subscription charges)
or Yahoo Messenger also allows u to call someone's phone-- again have to pay
