Judging by what I see there won't be a next life for them. They will have used all the resources for the next couple of lives in becoming obese. Between diabetes, heart attack and stroke, they are going to suffer plenty in this life. I keep having friends relatives and aquaintances that fail to heed the warnings that are suffering these things right now.
My score card:
Sister, stroke at 57
Brother, heart attack and stroke at 50
Mother in law, stroke at 65
Friend, died of kidney and heart failure at 47 from diabetes.
What did they all have in common, obesity.
My thin mother is 88 years young with no health issues.

Obesity is a disease affecting an estimated 300 million people around the globe. In the U.S. alone, 127 million people (64.5% of the population) are either overwight or obese.
The cause is complex and is the result of a genetical predisposition (A DISEASE), the environment and lifestyle. In many obese patients the hormone LEPTIN is incapable of entering the cerebrospinal fluid, and hence, the brain, where normally it would reach the hypothalamic regions that regulate (suppress) appetite. That is way the obese can not stop eating. It is not because they want to eat, it is because a genetic disease prevents their "appetite center" to be inactivated when enough calories are consumed.
Why should they be punished? Don't believe everything you read in some books. We live in the 21st century and the medical sciences are very advanced. Obesity is a disease NOT A SIN.

The obese are punished in this life, no doubt. It's possible they may be punished in the next life as well.

There are consequences for sins in this existence. if you're a non believer you in basic terms keep up wrath adversarial to your self for the judgement time when you die. God is a choose and is honest.....someone who turned right into a mass assassin in existence and denied Jesus ought to have a diverse second lack of life than someone who changed into variety to others yet nonetheless denied Jesus. Even secret sins will be printed on the judgment.

I think fat people should be criminalized. Like smoking if a guy at 7-11 sells smokes to a minor he goes to jail.
It should be a law if you sell food to a fat person you go to jail.

It is a sign of one of the seven deadly sins: gluttony, but I don't know if that really means much for the afterlife.
