Writing an essay is actually pretty easy. It's just knowing the formula.

In your first paragraph you are going to state the subject of your essay and your thesis. This will be short and simple and will not consist of facts. It is here you will state what the point of your essay is about. And the first sentence of the essay should be interesting and attention grabbing.

Move onto to the body of the essay at this point. You will start by stating part of your thesis (i.e. It is dangerous to engage in inappropriate behavior at a young age.) and then you will back that up with facts. Two or three sentences that are actual facts that you can footnote to a source will be good enough follow up. You will want to state about 5 points each backed up with facts. Be as detailed with the facts and try to use examples as possible. In total your goal should be to have between 3 and 6 paragraphs that support your thesis.

The last paragraph should by a summary of your previous paragraphs in reverse order. You should restate the thesis of your essay and provide a future prediction from the contents of your essay.

Talk about how when students do good in school, they are setting a good example for the next round of students. If each class does better and better because of the example set by the class before them...years later, many many more students would be performing better. So they are not doing it for themselves but for mankind.

Inappropriate behaviors could be skipping school, smoking, stealing: all of these things lead them down the wrong path. They have less chance of succeeding, but if they engage in positive behaviors, then they are more likely to succeed.

Okay, honey, this is YOUR homework, not OURS.

You need to be using your own brain to come up with these arguments. That, I believe, is more important, than the quality of the essay.

Please do your own homework.

Write about what you think is bad behavior, and then what you think kids should do instead.
