If you have been friends with a guy with 20 years like your entire life is it worth it to tell him you like him or would it just ruin a good thing?

Well if you have started to feel something more than just friendship for him, you really should tell him as honesty is always the best policy. However, beware that he may not return your feelings so by telling him might make things awkward and uncomfortable and therefore may in fact ruin your good friendship. Has he shown you any signs that he feels something more for you? You need to decide if you can stay the way you are with these feelings or if you would rather open them up and hopefully a relationship will develop. Good luck!

I would bring it up. You never know maybe he feels the same way and is just shy of saying it like you. I would try to bring it up casually though. Something like you really value his friendship and the relationship you have now, but wonder what it would be like if it developed into something more, etc... Make it a no pressure thing. Like it is perfectly okay to keep things the way they are now, if he is not comfortable with it.

I wouldn't necessarily tell him right off the bat that you are interested. What I would do is one time when you are talking with him playfully ask him "Would he ever want to be with you" but don't make it serious just see what he'll say. If you get a positive reaction then you can say that it might not be such a bad idea! Good luck.

its ok even tho i dont know what to tell you i am in the same boat, i really really like this girl and would give up my life for her a million times over, but i cant tell her this, because i know it would ruin the thing i have with her, and i would rather be her friend, then not know her at all, :(

It would probably ruin a good thing, if he has not made any advances toward a more meaningful relationship.

If you've had a good friendly relationship with him for 20 years, its highly doubted that it would rin a good thing. go ahead and tell him.
