I agree with you. Did you know that George Washington said in his last speech.....Stay out of foreign affiars....we should of listen to him. I am sure we will get out but it may be a while. We don't want to cause any more problems for us.

We need to stay in Iraq for at least 4-5 more years. The funny thing is people never learn from history, back in the late 30's public opinion was to stay out of WW2 and look how that turned out.Sadam was using all of the money that Iraq made from oil to build up his army while his people lived in poverty and then telling those same people that it was the United States fault they lived the way they lived and after his Army was big enough he invaded Kawait.Desert Storm was the result of that and then we promised the rebels in Iraq we would help them get Sadam out,and then after all the rebels declared what they where going to do we pulled out because the public though we had no business there after liberating Kawait leaving all the rebels alone to fight Sadam which he slaughtered. Now 16 years later the children of those rebels are in their mid 20's and hate us because we left their fathers to die and anyone that was loyal to Sadam doesn't want to lose the good thing they had. Then add in the religious beliefs they have and you'll understand why its hard for some in Iraq to trust us and stand up for what they want.Would you come out and help if you lived there,if all you heard is that the American people want to pull out their soldiers again before the job was finished?Ignoring a problem never makes it go away and Freedom has never been free.Good people always seem to die for a good cause, soldiers first fight for this countries freedom and then we also fight for those who cant fight for themselves not just Americans but also Humanity.Remember Women there have none of the rights you have in this country and children are forced to join the rebels agaist us as soon as they can aim and fire a weopon, they have no choice.Just think in Iraq the question you asked would get you and your family killed there.Just because you dont know the people over there that need our help doesn't mean they dont exsist. You'll never see any of the good things being done over there on the news because that doesn't get good ratings but Women now can hold jobs there and city's have running water that never had it before and children have schools they can go to.Isn't this a good reason to be there? The soldiers there do and thats why they are there and believe we need to stay.

Not for a while. We will reduce our troop strength after Bush is out of office, but we won't leave entirely for a long time. We built enduring bases -- complexes which are mini American towns, basically. Some have ice cream parolors, McDonalds, and KFCs. They take up 10 squares miles or more of Iraqi territory. Those will remain behind for several decades.

I agree that we should leave. But we aren't really causing the civil war. There are three different ethnic groups in Iraq that have clashing views on how the nation should be run, that's what causing the civil war.

US is moving from Europe to the Middle East.
US had 150,000 soldiers in Germany - now those soldiers are needed in Iraq to enforce a Middle Eastern Union.

No. And we shouldn't. Always keep in mind that bad news sells and the media knows it. Secondly, a vast majority, like 99.99% of the people in the U.S. don't know the entire story and tend to base their opinions off of what they hear (rumors and bad news).
