If not done porperly it could hurt again - that al depends on you. I think I would go at it as if you were doing it for the first time and do a little prep before doing the deed...
Before having anal sex, you should clean out a much as possible. If you don't, it could get messy and unpleasant for everyone involved. A normal bowel movement should be good enough, but some people also opt for an enema.
Since you have not 'done it' for a long time, a penis is an awful big thing to be the first thing you take up your butt again. Better to start with something smaller and work your way up. Fingers are an excellent beginning point... either your own or your 'tops'. Use one finger, then two, to get your muscle relaxed and stretched a little. Try it as part of the foreplay or during oral sex for an extra thrill. Be sure fingernails are trimmed, not to forget the lube.
