No, it is not normal to make yourself throw up by sticking your finger down your throat . I know that you feel better after you throw up , but this is not the way to go. The acid in your stomach comes up and destroys your esophagus. If you are not feeling well , you need to try and eat something . Lay still for about 15 to 30 mins after you eat.

Stop sticking your finger down your throat. You have "morning sickness" quite common for pregnant women during ANY phase of their pregnancy and not just in the mornings. When you get a bout sit down, fix a cup of tea, get some saltine crackers and nibble on them while drinking the tea. The only thing you are accomplishing by stinking your finger down your throat is making the contents of your stomach come back up and affording no nutriton to your baby. You might check with your doctor about the finger in the throat, you could have done harm to your stomach by that.

I had such bad dry heaves when I was pregnant, and all I wanted to do was throw up so it would stop and I'd feel a little better, so I do understand why you made yourself throw up because that's exactly what I wanted to do. and dry heaving is totally normal. but you really should try to not throw up as much as possible because it's so bad for your body. I had terrible morning sickness for the first 6 months; ginger ale helped for me and wheat thins (they're not as dry as saltines which just made it stick in my throat and made me even more nauseous) try eating something before you even get out of bed in the morning, like keeps a box of crackers on your nightstand.

NO, that is not nomal - if you are going to throw up you will. You don't need to force yourself to do that. I dry heaved with 2 of my pregnancies but I NEVER put my finger down my throat.

I think you should see your dr and let him/her know you did that. Did you have a problem with putting your finger down your throat before? If the answer is yes, then you may have an eating disorder and you need to realize that your baby needs all the nutrients it can get so he/she can grow. See your doctor......

Look for things that will subside the sickness. Ice cold coke or lemonade worked for me. Dont stick your fingers down your throat, thats stupid. The acid will ruin your teeth and it could cause lesions in your throat. Plus where are you supposed to be getting nourisment from if you keep throwing up unnecessarily.

Sticking your finger in your throat to throw-up is a type of eating disorder?

If you feel the need to throw up, I don't think you should force yourself because it's not always needed.

Why were you forcing yourself to vomit? Were you just naseous and felt the need to throw up? Or did you think that you weren't "really pregnant" if you didn't puke a lot?

No, it's not normal to force yourself to puke. In any circumstances. If you need to throw up, it's gonna happen, and you don't need to force yourself to. You really need to get help if this is a mental problem, because you could really be depriving yourself and your baby of essential nutrients by purging yourself.

And no, when I was pregnant, I did not feel the need to gag myself. This isn't normal.

Im the same way, it takes so much to make me physically throw up. But I cant stand the sick feeling like Im gonna throw up so I force it. It settles your stomach but is realy bad for your teeth. So unless its realy bad I dont suggest you force it anymore. I know its hard not too just to make the sick feeling go away but if at all possible...lol.

Sweetie,Why is it u felt that u had to force your self to throw up.I mean it is not necessary. Most of us would have been grateful not to have to throw up.And if u fee that sick to your stomach then I would suggest u talk to your doctor cause they can now give u something for nausea. But u should be getting over that part soon. And it is never good to make a habit of forcing yourself to throw up cause u can dehydrate and that will cause alot of problems. So please stop doing that. For yours and your babies safety good luck.

why are you making yourself throw up? There were several times I felt naseous while prego, but I never threw up. If it doesn't come out naturally, don't worry. Actually consider it a good thing. Maybe it's heartburn. I wouldn't worry. Morning sickness doesn't mean vomiting...just nauseousness.
