Hi..
Candles are romantic... Sunrises and sunsets are romantic... Any kind of low light, you see, is romantic, hence why dinner dates after dark are more romantic than lunch dates at noon.... Combine low light sources, and it stands to reason that the air of romance will be so thick, your beloved will be blind to anything else but the radiance of her shimmering knight in armor... Open the curtains on a sunset and light some candles, and you might even be able to get away with watching a football game during dinner.... ;))
It is a ritual.. but most of all, for "romantic people"...
The aroma..senses.. coziness .. etc..
"A candle in the wind" ;D
>>>>>

My regards!;)

I think because a lot of people are shy to be nude- so the bright lights would make them feel uncomfortable and not as "wild" i guess... but total darkness would be clumbsy and not seeing your partner would not be romantic (you could be doing w/ a sheep for all you know) so... i think a candle makes just enough light to show curves... but not imperfections. Plus they have some that smell really nice which could get you in the mood or remind you of something you guys did together that was sexy, and they have "aromatherapy" smells... which probably dont work, but whatever.

The low light helps hide imperfections on peoples faces, and creates a soft atmosphere. People are actually prettier in dim light vs hard bright light. I think the flickering lights also remind us of a cozy fireplace. Fireplaces=totally romantic. Candles=next best thing if you don't have a fireplace.

Then you also have the scents that fill the air, making everything pretty. ^_^

Candles give just enough light...you see each other, but there is a lot left to the imagination....besides, in the semi-darkness your pupils dilate and this makes you alot more sexier [that's scientifically proven: women with dilated (bigger) pupils look much more attractive to men].....darkness also makes you and your partner braver....it allows you more things.....inhibitions are gone....it's just you and this person you like/love and everything else around you as if does not exist (because it's covered in dusk)....he leans over to kiss you.....you stare in each other's eyes....you wish this moment never ends....everything is so perfect..........until your parents come and turn on the LIGHT! ;)

Look at the flame,it grasps your gaze. The shadows it cast against the wall. As you look through the glass of wine by the bedside the flame changes colour and the bubbles light up as they float to the top of the glass. When i sit by my desk writing this theres a picture of a girl that looks so beautifull with the candle light flickering on her face.

The flickering glow -- it makes everything look warm. And it hides "flaws" better, too! Just look at the difference between harsh flourecent light and candlelight! (Do you feel very romantic in the harsh, purple lighting when you can see the gritty sleep bits in the corner of someone's eye... or the makeup caked on their face... or the pepper stuck in their front teeth?)

Doesn't anyone know what candles are really good for? Damn, there is nothing more erotic than hot wax dripped along the navel, over the nipples....along the backside......traveling, dripping up the inside of a woman's thigh......
What is up with all these "lighting" answers? That's not what candles are for.

Because nearly everyone LOOKS BETTER in the soft flickering light of a candle than in the harsh glare of electric bulbs. When your companion looks better -- and you FEEL like you look better -- then romance is more likely to flourish.

They set a "mood", in a dark room...the flickering light is very ... well...romantic! Don't you think so? It's just sort of cozy and special, like a full moon on the water.
