i find that people pay lots of attention to me, and i hate it. it causes me to be very self-involved. whenever i try to talk to someone about themselves, it always leads to a conversation about ME. why is this? i try to be a caring, considerate person, however, people just seem too preoccupied with me, and i can't help but be preoccupied with myself either.

well for you to ask that question, you at least realize that the world doesnt revolve around you. Start volunteering at a homeless shelter, or get involved with a CASA program to protect kids, that'll get your focus on people in need and maybe a new outlook will help you. You need to fix this asap because self involed people tend to also be useless to society! sorry, but it's true!

You are really self -absorbed, and maybe the reason why the conversation goes back to you is because u are leading them back to you. for a short paragraph/question u wrote, i counted 12 I's and me's. Need I say more?

i knew many ppl in ur situation, i see hope
for u since ur one of the only ones who realizes she
has a problem. this is a more serious situation than one
would imagine,it could hinder your soul's development.
i'd go as far as tellin at least some of ur frends
while u enjoy the flattery, they are to restrain themselves
fr focusin on u

why so serious? the only way we learn and grow is to
expand ourselves outward, when a person is preoccupied
with only herself she cant do it---like a prison cell

It's a good thing to feel good about yourself and ave self esteem but it's a problem when it's all about you. Focus on getting to know other people, you already know yourself.

get over yourself and when they ask about you change the conversation. Also do some charity work and your'll see a new world and your focus on something other than yourself.

LOL...

Poor thing, you must be exhausted!!

Are you genuinely interested in other people?? Because it isn't THAT complicated.

Conversation moves to you, stop, move the questions back onto them and be genuine when you ask. Just be interested in what they have to say...you just never know, you might actually LEARN something!

If you are pre-occupied with yourself...you can not really be so caring about others as you say. Maybe they see you need caring yourself..
