Argentina was economically devasted after being the posterchild of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. They adopted ALL the horrid policies in a short period under Menem and de la Rúa, and the economy was about as destroyed as a relatively modern economy can be, including the freezing of bank accounts.
So I wouldn't want to live there because I don't find destitution terribly enticing. But the world is a beautiful and fascinating place, and I'd love to visit argentina.
If you are looking for a unique cultural experience you might be dissappointed by how European Argentina is. The people, the food, the culture. So if you want a more South American experience you might want to try a different country. I find much of South America's history to be somewhat bizarre, and at times depressing lol, but interesting nonetheless.

I think the South Americas are fascinating places, and would like to visit many of them, even the politically and culturally unstable countries. Such a shame when people only think of United States and Florida/Disneyland when America gets mentioned

Argentina is an excellent united states of america with proper internet sites. continuously something good to eat and many vacationer atracctions. Buenos aires is an extremely cultured city even as not in undesirable situations is probably between the nicest on the international (the paris of the americas.) even with you've planned i advise you flow for it.

I have visited.( for work )..it is beautiful...the people were wonderful..the food was great.....Malbec is a terrific wine!...but...
I was a little put off by the ARMED militia.....guys with machine guns were EVERYWHERE!!!
