The meds could be making you drowsy even if they aren't the nighttime formula, simply because if you have a severe cold, your body is fighting it off. That alone can make you sleepy. Why not wait and take the pills at night before bedtime. Whatever you do, don't drive while taking them, or you could fall asleep at the wheel. If you must take them during the day, maybe you could cut down and just take one.

Everyone reacts different to medication, it can be that you are just that sick you needed a nap or it could be the medication. I can take a regular Sudafed and become drowsy.

Normally it's not suppost to but I do know some people who get reverse effects from medication... when you are not at work and do not have to work the next day try taking the nighttime pill and see if it keeps you up? Good Luck

Yes, most cold remedies make you drowsy whether they are for daytime or night. You should take medication at home until you know how it affects you.
