I'm writing a book and it would be nice to have a more detailed description of what he looked liked, what he wore, what the ship looked like, and a list of the members of his crew.
Thanks

Not trying to be "smart" here but don't you have an internet search vehicle like google or internet explorer, or, can't you go to a library? Anyway, check out the following links.

Just went through some of your "q's" and it seems like you already pretty much know most everything these sites are saying. There are more in depth books written on Black Bart Roberts than what you will find in these brief 1 page descriptions and it would probably be best for you to go to a library or book store to borrow or buy them for more thorough info.

This may sound a bit crass, but the first lesson you need to remember is that for any writing project it is best to do your own research. First hand if at all possible. Don't rely on others giving you possibly erroneous information that you may be called on to verify at a later time. Especially here........ many of the folks here would lie just to see you embarrassed and made to look stupid. If that is OK with you then please ignore me and go on writing.
In any case good luck with your project.

Well since you are writing a book, you need to research this yourself because you will still need to list references in the back like a bibliography
