When i was a young girl in the 70s , I loved to watch Come Dancing, and i was fascinated with the ladies dresses. They wore the big Dresses that stuck right out, with lots of layers of net. I have been trying for all these years (i am now 48) to purchase one of them. I have been told there is a shop in Blackpool that sells the original dresses that were used in the program, in Blackpool Tower. Please help. Does anyone know where i can buy one from. Ive looked on Ebay, but they only have the modern day ones. Someone out there must know someone that sells them.

I used to do ballroom dancing and I always wanted one of those skirts! You want one of the dresses for ballroom rather than latin dancing (the latin dresses are skimpier), i.e. for the foxtrot or quickstep.

Try here:

If I had an ounce of spare time I'd make you one! Layers and layers and layers of netting...

Old Slarti will let you into a little secret.

Go to an anglers shop and buy a reel of shark line, it's not expensive (please read on - this is not a joke)

Find an ordinary peticoat and thread the wire through the hem at the bottom. If it hasn't got a hem, make one.

The peticoat will now stand out as you described.

You can use ordinary fishing line if you like but the thicker it is the more it will make it stand out. It also gives it a nice curvey shape.

Although I'm a bloke and not supposed to know about such things, I was told this years ago by a guy who owned an anglers shop. He told me he sells more shark line to women than to men.

Why don't u contact the tv company that produced the show..
I'm sure they must have had to audition for participants therefore must have put out adverts for dancers/dance clubs..
What about Specialist magazines,costume providers..

Good luck with your search
