For a dress shoe, if they are light marks, you may need to buff w/ a little shoe polish. For light-colored shoes w/ dark marks (such a tennis shoes) I have had sucess w/ a cleaning product called "goo-gone." It is gentle, widely available (Target, etc.), and inexpensive. Put a little on a paper towel and rub the scuff marks. They should come clean easily unless the shoe material has been damaged. This also works to get scuff marks off flooring.

i would go to any shoe store and ask them what type of product is good for scuffs i have this stuff called stuff stain remover but its for tennis shoes it might work for dress shoes you can find that at finish line lady footlocker places like that

shoe polish available frm all gd shoe stores n Burton etc: dnt use the magic eraser lol it will make it worse it'll take da colour off completely (no offence ne1) there will b instructions at the bk of the packety n it wnt cost much

When I was in the military we would use something call "neverdull" is supposed to be for removing rust from metal, but it did wonders for our shoes. Do not use on suede.
