Not sure about the best, there are several ways to go about this. I'll try to be complete. If you are a true computer tech and know your stuff your best bet is to just build one yourself. But say you are lazy or dont know your stuff. Well if you want to do some serious gaming AlienWare is not a bad way to go. If you aren't into gaming you may want to just get a Dell, but be forwarned while I have had very little problems with Dell equipment unless you are a bussniess account spending lots of money on there PC's you are going to get stuck with over seas poeple for support. This actuly would be true for any company you buy a PC for. But I recommend Dell as theirs are most reliable.

i would go with an HP because they have the BEST customer support, they can custom build it for you and the make the highest quality pc's you can buy, they are also very affordable.

Good Luck and stay away from: dell - gateway and emachines

building one is the best that way it can be built for your specific needs and it will only have the software that you need on it. If you are not able to build one there are many places that will custom build one for you.

The best computer is the one you build yourself.

If you want someone else to build it
