I think you mean Chet Baker's version of My Funny Valentine, a jazz standard that Elvis Costello also covered. I think you're thinking of a band called My Bloody Valentine.

Lots of people sang My Funny Valentine.

Chet Baker's version is real famous. He had lots of problems with heroin addiction. As far as I know, he fell out of a window in Amsterdam and died. Really, It's still a mystery, how he died. Adults don't just fall out of windows.

Today we have Chris Botti to copy Chet's sound. I think Botti does acknowledge Chet as a major influence. He couldn't get away with not siting Chet.

Probably thinking of "My Funny Valentine". Chet Baker did it, so did Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra.
