Has anyone ever read this book? And if so, can you tell me the meaning of a "sucia". The girls in the book call themselves this, but I do not speak spanish and have no idea what they mean.

Thanks

Sucia is the spanish word for "Dirty" It ends in "a" so that means it's referring to a feminine noun. A male noun would be "sucio".

La Queen Sucia!

Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez, who wrote Dirty Girls Social Club and Playing with Boys has a blog! If you are a fan you have to check it out!

And maybe you can ask her personally what suica means - although all of the above are correct.

Enjoy!

I read it, only got a few chapters in and was board-- the 'set up' is way too long-- explaining each character and her background. I prefer books which jump straight into the action.
