Seriously, I am going on my fourth year in college, and I get absolutely NO help from my parents. (not because they don't want to but because they can't afford to) I have to take out loans, get financial aid, AND use my credit cards until they are maxed out, just to survive. I am holding down two jobs, and classes start soon...but I still need to work a ton just to pay all my bills. I am not trying to complain though...because personally I think it has made me a stronger person and when I go out in the real world, I will be the one who can handle it just fine. I am just sick of all these kids who rely on there parents...slum around and claim that classes take up too much of thier precious time, and they can't make any money on thier own. Even if you have just one bill paid by your parents, appreicate it, because someday, they will cut you off. Thoughts?

oh and I hope I made it clear that i'm not annoyed at those who appreicate. If you get all you need from your parents and work anyways, and truly appreicate what they give you..then good for you.

I must say that being wealthy and/or being the child of someone wealthy is not a bad thing. You are going to college so that you too can become successful and then one day leave a legacy for your children. You cannot allow yourself to be completely upset with the kids over something that their parents made possible. I am willing to believe that if you were one of those rich kids, you wouldn't be mad at any of them at all.
But one thing that you really have to know about money is that it is a magnifier of what you are already about. So when you see these rich kids being lazy, they would be just as lazy if they were poor. When I was in college I saw so many poor kids who didn't make it past the first semester as a result of failing. They too claimed that classes took up too much of their precious time. And likewise there have been many rich kids taking a full course load who have time to do nothing other than eat sleep and study.
So I admire you for your efforts because you want your education just as badly as that rich kid who spends half the day in the library and the other half in his dorm room studying.

Honestly I don't think you should feel grateful that your parent paid one bill. Hell you should Be pissed that they don't help you will college. As. Parent YOU need to understand how the world works and that you're child will not survive without an education. And if you cannot provide that education then do now have a kid! Average tuition is 40,000 to 80,000 how the hell is a kid suposed to come up with that when he can't even work full time until he is 16?!?

I am sick of them, and I have money.
Its their attitudes, their snotty little "I can have what I want, I can do what I want wha whaaa buy me a pony" attitudes.
I honestly would love to B-slap them. However, I do take great satisfaction in knowing that, at some point the majority of them will fall flat on their butts when daddy severs their credit cards.
"Oh...Mi...Gawd, I have to work at MC-Donald's, because nobody will hire me. Its BS, because I'm better than everyone else! How embarrassing, this is so beneath me! /emo Oh, sorry sir.... Would you like fries with that?"
Take pride in what you're doing. The hard way is always more rewarding in the long run.

Rich Kids? They walk around like they own the damn place!
Their parents might worked their tails off but the kids are spoiled and silver-spoon fed. Why does a four-year old girl need a cell-phone, an i-pod and Gucci sunglasses?
Why do they spent thousands of dollars on buying clothes for their pets while their are people starving in Africa?
Why do they need ten cars to travel around in, while a hard-working man worries about putting food on the table?
Trust me, I have seen theses rich kids, and honestly they care nothing about humanity expect themselves? No, I am not judging them, that's God's job, but nevertheless I guess it goes back to show that money does corrupt and it sure as hell is evil.

A lot of people are in the same situation and have some of the same feelings. However, I think you're wrong in your assumption that those who have even one bill paid by their parents don't appreciate it. Most of us truly appreciate any help our parents can give us, even those who get a "free ride". Yes, there are people who don't appreciate the help and will continue on living shallow, hollow, and meaningless lives, but they are not the majority. I think you should try not to think about them and instead focus on how well you've done supporting yourself.

You know when i was at college my mates considered me one of the rich kids because my parents wouldn't let me work and bought me a house, this was because they wanted me to work really hard at college - and u know i did - i ended up getting a first and still ain't got a job cos there are no jobs in in my line of work! but I'm going back to college and I'm going to get a job as a nurse after getting some more qualifications! I appreciate everything my folks give to me! and if i anybody seeing anybody going without I'm always the first to invite people around for dinner and stuff like that, my parents have taught me good values! and values are way more important than money!

Don't even worry about them because when college is all over with and it's time to move in to the world of working and paying their own bills, they are the ones who are going to fail miserably. You'll be the one to come out on top. Keep it up.

I am sick of several kinds of people. Those who are born with a silver spoon in their mouths that think that they deserve things because of parents wealth.
Those who are born poor who think they deserve things because they don't want to work and sit on their hinnies and complain about what they don't have.
There is alot to be said for earning an honest days living whether rich or poor and being thankful knowing that you could have nothing.

It is a fact of life. Even in the workplace you will find spoiled, nasty people. Some people will always have an up/ or advantage. All you can do is work as hard as you can. You will always have to work with people who slum around and complain.

Um...YES. It makes me want to vomit. I wish MTV would do more True Life stuff, they just did one on Autism and it was so well done. I think we need to inform the youth of this country on issues others of us are having. Maybe with the elections coming up in the next year and a half they will be a shift to educational TV.
