If this is a pemranant feature , then I would say that it is due to a good supply of healthy oxygenated blood to the capillaries just under the surface of your skin. If it happens only when your pushing a brown one out ,then stop pushing!!!

It could be the sign that you have Lupus, an auto immune defect, whereby the body cannot fight infection and the person is repeatedly ill and has to be on life time medication.
Worth getting that red face checked out.
