Alright, although it's just the end of August Mushroom season is fast approaching. Due to the unusual weather this year do you think it's going to be early or later than normal before we see our sacred friends? This question is going to be difficult as, obviously, it's a guess. God bless you Mother Nature, even Tony Blair can't ban you :-)

Tallboy, i buy mushrooms from local high street stores too, what a strange coincidence. For future reference the definition of a druggie is: A person who uses illegal drugs daily. Most "druggies" have two states of being: On drugs or Withdrawing from drugs. They are also usually "out of touch" with everybody or they do not enjoy being with non-drug users.

In the words of Bill Hicks "Your denial is beneath you, and thanks to the use of hallucinogenic drugs, I see through you" Enjoy shopping at Tesco's, every little helps :-)

I think that the weather has far less effect on the mushrooms than one would think. The single largest factor would be moisture...and when it is right, they will come. Not knowing where you are hunting mushrooms, it is hard to even guess. In the northeast, Morels were barely affected by a late cold spring or an early hot spring, unless the ground became very dry, very early.
I work in the mushroom industry, and thank heavens that it is not an exact science...or a lot of us would be out of jobs!

Just keep your eyes pealed in your usual spots...they should be out now or very soon....let's just hope we don't get an early frost or that'll be it for this season. Good luck and happy hunting...enjoy life for free.
