Think about where we'd be if no one wanted more. No inventions that make life more convenient, or safe, or interesting. No art that makes life more beautiful. No medicine that makes life more healthy. No science to help us understand the world, or philosophy to help us understand ourselves. AND we'd all be living in whatever part of the world humans first appeared in (don't want to start another debate with that one), because no one would have wanted more than that piece of land had to offer...

Greed is bad, but wanting things to be better isn't.

we are in a state of learning all of out lives, if we do not learn, we do now grow, if we are not growing we are bored!! Then we yearn for something more.....I don't think greed has anything to do with it unless you are talking about possessions, and that's a whole different subject. That wasn't very helpful was it? Sorry

It could be greed, depending on what you mean by "more". When people most often say this in my experience, they're expressing a desire to improve their own attitudes and actions by simplifying their lives. However, most only know how to get more out of life by actually getting more stuff, the newest systems, the newest vehicles, etc. And they ultimately end up getting LESS out of life because it takes more of their own time and energy to maintain what they've newly acquired.
