I am going to visit the parents tonight, and I want to convey something of substance, beyond the fact I am educated, and am doing well making $$.
I feel like I have to convince her mother of who I really am.
Any help would be grateful. Thank you.

Convey the substance you have inside. To most parents, they're more interested in how you treat their baby. You can have a great job, car, home, clothes-but if you walk into their house and act like it's all about you-"welcome to the family" will not be something you'll hear from them, EVER. I don't mean brown nose. I just mean simply- if you're a quality guy, which you've got to for her to even want you to meet the parents- show them what she sees. Be yourself. When you convey your wonderful inner substance, you won't need to do any convincing!

Be honest first and foremost. Treat the daughter with respect and as a gentleman. Look both parents in the eye when greeting and talking to them. Don't try to over impress, just be yourself and i'm sure they will see what their daughter sees. I'm speaking from a father's perspective.

If you are a good guy, then just be yourself. Don't "try" to impress because then it seems rehearsed. Be polite but don't go over board. Show respect for your girl and her family. Please and thank yous are good. Only tell if they ask as far as education and money etc. If you bring it up it seems like bragging. Take a small gift as a thank you for inviting you to visit. Have fun and don't be nervous!

Be respectful. Having an education a a ggod job is a great start. I would want to know where you plan on taking your life and I want to see my daughter being treated well by you. Also treat me and any other family memers with respect.

Bring some simple flowers over. My mom was smitten the minute my husband walked in the door with flowers for her!

dont over do it ...dont try acting like them guys on tv bringing flowers and dressing all up just be yourself nicely dressed dont try impressing anyone if your not going to do it always...just bring flowers to your so called g/f

i want my daughters boyfriend to be honest and open, good humor, laugh, smile, be comfortable with us, lol, respect, faithful, good table manner just chew with your mouth shut lol, treat her good is all
